Compensation

How we get paid, in plain terms

Carriers compensate us when you enroll. You never pay a fee, and your premium is the same anywhere you buy.

Where the money goes

Four steps, from your enrollment to our compensation. Nothing in this chain adds to your premium.

  1. You enroll in a plan

Your premium is set by the carrier and approved by CMS. It is the same price everywhere.

  2. The carrier pays Beacon

A commission for new enrollments and a smaller renewal payment each year you stay enrolled.

  3. CMS caps the amount

Medicare sets annual maximum compensation for Advantage and Part D plans, level across carriers.

  4. You pay Beacon nothing

No fees, no retainers, no charge for fall reviews or billing help after you enroll.

Our carrier-neutral promise

We represent 8 carriers in Central Indiana: Anthem, Humana, UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, CareSource, Wellcare, Mutual of Omaha, Cigna. That breadth only matters if we use it honestly.

  1. We never charge you a fee for Medicare guidance, enrollment or service.
  2. We show you plan options from every carrier we represent that fits your doctors and drugs.
  3. We tell you when a plan we do not represent may be worth checking on Medicare.gov.
  4. We will not move you to a new plan unless it clearly improves your coverage or cost.
  5. We record sales calls and keep your Scope of Appointment on file, as CMS requires.

Commission structures differ by plan type and carrier. CMS limits Advantage and Part D compensation, and Supplement commissions are set by carriers. We show you both paths side by side and document why we recommend one.

No. Premiums are the same whether you enroll through an agent, directly with the carrier, or on Medicare.gov. The carrier pays the agent from its marketing budget.

A short form that records which types of plans you want to discuss before a sales appointment. It protects you from being pitched products you did not ask about. It does not obligate you to enroll.

Yes. Ask any advisor and we will explain the general compensation for the plan type you are considering.

Ask us anything about compensation
